I was very excited to be invited to participate in the Festival of Architecture & Design as part of South Australia's Open State Festival  in Adelaide recently.

On October 6th I presented to Renewal SA about our work in Melbourne and on October 7th I was part of a presentation and panel discussion on Alternative infill housing: Can citizen-led development regenerate cities and communities?

My co-presenters in both events were:

  • Warren Phillips - Senior DM with Landcorp WA who discussed some of the amazing things the WA government is doing at their White Gum Valley (WGV) development near Fremantle.
  • Jasmine Palmer - Lecturer at Architecture at the University of SA

It was a great couple of days and it was really inspiring to get a better understanding of the innovative things happening at WGV,  as well as going on some great tours of some 1990s CBD co-housing projects, Christie Walk and Renewal SA's massive Bowden urban renewal project.
