Project Details
Property Collectives has been engaged to deliver a purpose-built accommodation development in Geelong comprising 15 private studios across three levels, together with shared living spaces, homely interior design and dedicated staff facilities.
The development has been designed to complement the character of the surrounding neighbourhood, with an inviting landscaped entrance and retained mature trees contributing to a welcoming, residential setting.
Designed by Six Degrees architects, the building incorporates best-practice design principles, including sustainability, accessibility and inclusivity features.
The site has convenient access to public transport, essential services and community amenities that help residents build independence, create positive pathways for their future and strengthen connections with community life.
The project will provide accommodation and wrap-around support for young people seeking safe and stable accommodation. Dedicated 24/7 Meli staff will provide mentoring and connections to education, training and employment, while ensuring the accommodation is professionally managed at all times.
The development has progressed through the relevant statutory planning requirements in consultation with the City of Greater Geelong under Clause 52.22 of the Victorian Planning Scheme – a planning pathway established for small-scale, government-funded community care accommodation.
Housing Australia is the lead funding partner, together with a generous local philanthropic contribution. Upon completion in 2028, the accommodation will be operated by Meli, an experienced and respected community services organisation operating in the Geelong Region.
